Challenge: Our client's publication, Al Mubtaath (The Scholar) magazine, required a creative resource to help them re-launch this sought-after publication. Finding a metropolitan Washington, DC organization with both graphic design proficiency and the technical know-how to produce a 104-page publication primarily in Arabic was critical. Fortunately, Otion Creative was able to successfully provide both.
The original underexposed photo was enhanced by Otion Creative, producing a brighter and clearer version ready for print in Al Mubtaath magazine.
Solution: Otion Creative used Adobe InDesign to produce the magazine. Of course, InDesign is the publishing industry's primary tool for document design and layout, but this magazine required particular attention. Developing a periodical in which text flows and pages are read from right to left requires a specialized version of InDesign developed specifically for layout of documents in certain languages, including Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian. This magazine, produced primarily in Arabic, also contained some English language as well as the necessary typography to display Arabic text from sacred manuscripts. Otion Creative also secured the necessary resources to proofread and perform quality control responsibilities throughout the process. Al Mubtaath magazine also contains over 100 images. Otion Creative pored over hundreds of photographs and illustrations, performing color correction and/or artistic enhancements and modifications to many of them. Otion Creative also collaborated with the commercial printer to ensure delivery of a stunning magazine produced on time and within budget.
